Teen Patti, also called 3 Patti, is a traditional Indian three-card game. This page explains a common format for learning only. Rules differ between groups and digital versions; check the table’s own rule sheet before playing.
Adults only. This page does not explain or encourage betting, staking money or chasing losses. We do not offer money play.
The basic idea
In a typical Teen Patti hand, each player receives three cards from a standard deck. Players compare combinations according to a ranking system. The exact deal, turn order and stopping conditions depend on the version being played. For a no-money learning session, use a rules demonstration or agree to play with no stakes or prizes.
Common round vocabulary
A traditional term for acting before looking at one's cards. In a learning context, treat it as a rules vocabulary item, not a money action.
A player has looked at their cards. Some house rules use this to alter turn options.
A comparison of cards under the table's rules. The exact timing and eligibility can vary.
Leaving the current hand. Terminology and mechanics differ by variant.
How to learn without stakes
- Read the exact rules for the variant before starting.
- Use an offline practice mode or a no-stakes demonstration if available.
- Keep play time limited and stop if the activity feels stressful.
- Do not connect a game session to payments, prizes or attempts to recover losses.
Rules are not a strategy guarantee
Knowing rankings helps you understand comparisons. It does not predict the next deal or guarantee a result. Any “sure win” or “fixed outcome” claim should be treated with skepticism.
